7:30 am - possibly 6:00 pm
The Metchosin Sheepdog Trial is a family friendly event showcasing top working sheepdogs and their handlers.
The Metchosin Sheepdog Trial is definitely back after too long an absence. We have top class entries from all over the west coast of North America - 109 runs scheduled over the two days so far, and it may be more.
Entry is by donation but we are hoping that people will be generous and also buy the informative commemorative program. There will also be concessions and prize raffles and fifty-fifty draws throughout the weekend.
The event is at Swanwick Ranch Farm on William Head Road, which allows for a championship level course of five hundred metres, all in full view from the bleachers. The event runs from 7am to possibly 6pm on Saturday and Sunday, August 5 and 6, so do come and enjoy the return of this classically Metchosin event.
We do still need lots of volunteers to help put up tents and stuff on Friday, help with parking and concessions on Saturday and Sunday, and help the take down and clean up on Monday. We are hoping to have enough volunteers who have the Metchosin spirit to enable short shifts for everyone.
Please contact Brian at 250-474-3966, Johnny at 250-474-4601 or Heather at the House at 250-478-5155 if you are able to put even one volunteer shift in.
